I am an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) wife, and my husband has been in the Air Force for almost 11 years. He recently left Active Duty and joined the Air National Guard. Because EOD has always been small, close-knit, and supportive, I wanted to give back to this community. 5% of each EOD sale will be donated to the EOD Memorial Fund.
As well, 5% of each non-EOD, military sale will be donated to the Fisher House Foundation. When my best friend's husband stepped on a land mine in Afghanistan, she stayed at a nearby Fisher House while he recouperated. I visited her while she was there and was amazed by the warmth and concern of the volunteers. Because it is an organization that helps military families in times of need, I want to contribute.
I have been sewing and quilting off and on for 16 years, so when I began sewing part of my own daughter's layette, I decided to start making items for "EOD babies" as well. I don't always have a lot of time, but I enjoy making the blankets and quilts.
